Ronald C. Laliberte

NORTH SMITHFIELD-Ronald C. Laliberte, 89, formerly of No. Smithfield, died November 21, 2012 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Anita A. (Riendeau) Laliberte who passed away in September and with whom he had celebrated his 69th wedding anniversary in August.
Born in Quebec, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Laura (Leboeuf) Laliberte.
Mr. Laliberte worked twenty years as a Staff Manager for Polytop Corp., No. Smithfield, retiring in 1987 and was the previous owner of Home Realty, Slatersville. A graduate of URI with a degree in Business, he was a WWII Marine Veteran, having received a Purple Heart. Ronald was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Slatersville and a member of the VFW, Forestdale.
He is survived by his four children; Ronald Laliberte and his wife Judy of Quechee, VT, Linda Beattie and her husband James of Palmerton, PA, David Laliberte and his wife Diane of Waldo, ME and Donna Matthews and her fianc Geoff Hughes of Cumberland, three sisters; Grace Plante of Blackstone, Germaine Pacheco of Woonsocket and Jeannine Foisy of Slatersville, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Paul, Fernand, Alphonse and Edgar Laliberte, Claire Lefebvre and Jill Plouffe
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10AM St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., No. Smithfield. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to; The Jennifer Laliberte Nursing Scholarship Fund c/o Bank Rhode Island, One Turks Head Place, Providence, RI 02903; Attn: Lynne Schoenberger.
