All three of the area’s R.I. semifinal-round football contests – West Warwick-Cumberland, Central-Woonsocket, North Smithfield-Mount Pleasant – have been pushed back a day to Wednesday night. All three games will begin at 6 p.m.
All told, there were eight games on the docket for Tuesday night, all of which have been moved back to Wednesday. With the Super Bowl in all divisions set for Sunday, it will interesting to see with teams now having one less day to recover/prepare for the biggest game of the season whether the R.I. Interscholastic League decides to push the championship games back a day.
As of right now, Cranston Stadium is the site for the Division I and IV Super Bowls while East Greenwich’s Carcieri Field has the Division II and III Super Bowls.
