Jeffrey D. McKenna
WOONSOCKT- Jeffrey D. McKenna, 80, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2012 surrounded by friends and loves ones.
Born October 7, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Euclide and Emerilda (Decasse) McKenna.
He was the devoted husband of Doris (Cournoyer) McKenna with whom he shared 60 wonderful years.
Jeff was a self employed cross country truck driver, (McKenna Brothers Trucking) along with his brothers Raymond and Kenneth. He was a member of the teamsters union and the past president of the Shamrock Society. His love for music filled our hearts on many occasion, using spoons, bottles, guitars, accordions, harmonicas and what ever else he could find to create music. He love baffling people with his many tricks many times until they cried with laughter. He was loved by everyone and never had an unkind work to say. He was an Army Veteran who served under General Dwight D. Eisenhower during the Korean War.
He is survived by his loving children, Kenneth McKenna and his wife Ida of Providence, Wayne McKenna and his wife Carol of N. Kingstown, Joanne Keovongsavang of Woonsocket and the late Gail McKenna.
He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Scott McKenna, Jennifer LeClair and her husband Heath of N. Smithfield, Laura McKenna of Ayer, MA, Keren McKenna, Kim Chauvin and her husband Shiloh, Amy Keovongsavang, Gail Keovongsavang all of Woonsocket and Corey McKenna of N. Kingstown and his great grandchildren, Brielle McKenna, Julie McKenna, Heath Jeffrey LeClair, Cali Kim Keovongsavang, Ayden Chauvin, Madden Keovongsavang and Alivia Rose Rainone. Jeff was predeceased by his brothers William J. McKenna and Raymond P. McKenna both of Woonsocket and is survived by his brothers Kenneth McKenna and Robert McKenna both of Montreal and his sisters Kathleen McKenna Bicki of Woonsocket, Maureen McKenna Desjardins of Montreal and his life long friend Al Champagne. He was the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews which includes his God Children Roger Jeffrey McKenna, Bryan Champagne and Kelly McKenna. The will be a celebration of his life on Dec. 6, at 7PM at the Lower Level in N. Smithfield.
