WOONSOCKET- Madeleine C. (Lalancette) Allard, 87, of Pond St., died November 26, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.
Born in Nasonville, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Alice (Belisle) Lalancette, Sr.
Mrs. Allard worked as a spinner for various Woonsocket mills and also worked as a clerk for the Foxboro Co. She was a former member of the Elks and enjoyed playing cards, line dancing and ballroom dancing. Madeleine's passions included spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, beating Rachel at cards and watching Russ play drums at the El Toro Lounge. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
She is survived by her son; Russell Allard and his wife Susan of Hopedale, MA, her daughter; Rachel Arruda of Woonsocket, a sister; Jeannine Menard of Woonsocket, six grandchildren; Joseph Jr., Traci and Vanessa Arruda and Amanda, Heather and Russell Allard Jr. and three great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Gerard Allard and sister of the late Aime, Gerard and Lucille Lalancette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10AM in Holy Family Church, 414 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homefront Health Care, 460 South Main St, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
