Club Par-X breakfast to benefit Milk Fund

WOONSOCKET — If you haven’t been to Le Club Par-X for breakfast recently, Sunday morning might be a good day to stop by the Stanley Street gathering place.
Club President Robert Joanette said the club is gearing up for what he expects to be a very successful breakfast for the Milk Fund from 8 a.m. to noon at the club.
“We want it to be a good breakfast, so we are expecting 100 people or more,” Joanette said.
Par-X, founded in 1938 as a French Canadian fraternal group, is well known for hosting breakfast fundraisers and family gatherings such as birthday parties, baby showers, and anniversaries at its Stanley Street hall.
But like many other local organizations, Par-x has not been immune to the effects of the slow economy on both its function hall events and membership in the private, non-profit social organization.
Joanette and his fellow officers, Dave Fortier, treasurer, Liz Howes, secretary, and Tracy Weick, financial secretary, have been working to boost club membership and have also generated new interest in use of the club facilities.
