BURRILLVILLE- Iris C. Lataille 97, resident of Pascoag died December 7, 2012, at the Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Mapleville RI on July 6, 1915, a daughter of the late Napoleon & Celima (Labossiere) Lataille.
Miss Lataille attended Burrillville schools, and graduated in 1936 from RI College of Education with a bachelors degree in elementary school teaching. For many years (1944-63) she taught in elementary schools in Burrillville mainly Harrisville Grammar and Austin T. Levy. Previously (1939-42) she taught in a one room school in Exeter, (1942-44) Richmond Jr. High School, (1963-73) Westerly school system. She retired in 1973 after 35 years of teaching. She was a communicant of Our Lady Good Help Church.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman, Omer, Theodore, and Napoleon Lataille, sisters, Marie St. Pierre, Alma, Bertha, Louise Lataille, Eunice Gervais, and Yvonne Gaucher.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 9am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Highway, Oakland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Good Help Church, Mapleville. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM.
