SLATERSVILLE, RI- Rita L. (Parent) Recore, 80, of Slatersville, RI passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Omer H. Recore, Sr. of North Smithfield, RI.
Born in Burrillville, RI on July 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hormidas and Roseanna (Berard) Parent.
She was the loving mother of Omer H. Recore, Jr. and his wife, Elaine of Uxbridge, MA, Janice Plouffe and her husband, Richard of Orlando, FL, and Dianne J. Martin and her husband, Mitchell of Uxbridge, MA; and her five cherished granddaughters, Jessica, Melissa, Jody, Michelle, and Ashley. She was the sister of the late Zephir. Parent, Alma Hebert and Marie Laliberte.
A resident of Slatersville for 30 years formerly of Bellingham, she worked at the former Caldor's in Woonsocket for 14 years until retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Harrisville, RI and was active in elder affairs. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 15th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Theresa Church, 35 Dion Drive, Nasonville, RI. Interment will follow at St. Theresa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
