William J. Lambert

CUMBERLAND- William J. Lambert, 92, of Diamond Hill Road, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving famiy. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette (Cloutier) Lambert, and they had been married for 64 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Edith (Raymond) Lambert. He resided in Cumberland for over 60 years.
Mr. Lambert was a United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, attaining the rank of Tech. Sergeant, and he was a member of the 325th Fighter Group.
Bill was employed as a service manager for the Martel Oil Burner Service Company for many years until his retirement in 1985.
Mr. Lambert was a founding communicant of the St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. He loved to go bowl, dance, read and golf. He was an avid fan of New England professional sports. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife he leaves four daughters, Doreen Howe of Quincy, MA, Sister Carolyn Lambert of Martin, KY, Susan Brodeur of Somerset, MA and Edith Brodeur of Warren, RI; one sister, Barbara Munsell of Milo, ME; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Gail Notardonato, and brother of the late Raymond Lambert, David Lambert, and Marion DeLuca; and half-brother of Aldege Lambert.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM from the J. J Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
