Catherine Theresa Venditti

WARWICK- Venditti, Catherine Theresa (Monti), died peacefully at Scalabrini Villa on December 10, 2012, just shy of her 100th birthday. She was the beloved wife for 56 years of the late Capt. Edo G. Venditti, US Army (Ret.).
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Enrico and Rosalie Monti, she resided in Warwick since 1956.
Catherine was employed by Allen's Mfg. in Providence as the company bookkeeper for over 12 years. She attended Holy Ghost School, St. Xavier's Academy and Bryant College. She and Edo, a career Army officer, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Japan. Catherine was a devout member of St. Benedict Church and a 53 year member of the Daughters of Isabella, serving in many offices as well as Regent. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed swimming at McDermott Pool, bowling and ballroom dancing. She loved preparing festive holiday meals and desserts for family and friends.
Catherine leaves behind her loving children, Edward Venditti and wife, Roslyn, Gainesville, VA; Mary Rapoport and husband, Jack, Roanoke, VA; Elaine Hazzard, Warwick, RI; and Barbara Cole and husband, Bill, Coventry, RI. She also leaves the legacy of her beloved grandchildren: Tara Venditti, Christine Hazzard, Charis Venditti, MD, Dylan King, Katherine Venditti, RN, Bowe King, William Cole and Edward Cole, and her great grandchildren, Lydia Hazzara-Leal and Lucca Venditti Hakenberg. She was also the sister of Sr. Mary Concetta, RSM, of Cumberland, the late Michael Monti, Concetta Monti and Gaetano Monti.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave., Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 PM. Information and condolences, visit
