WOONSOCKET - Pauline M. (Rockett) Colerick 92, resident of Woonsocket died peacefully at home on December 13, 2012. She was the wife of the late Walter F. Colerick.
She was born in Dorchester MA, a daughter of the late Dr. James F. & Mary (O'Brien) Rockett.
She was a 1937 graduate of Woonsocket High school and subsequently ended up teaching at the Woonsocket High School retiring in 1982. She was a Bryant University graduate in 1942 majoring in Business Education. She volunteered at Woonsocket Harris Public Library, Meals on Wheels, Museum of History & Culture and the Food Pantry at St. Charles Church. She was a lifelong active member of the former Trinity Club and St. Charles Church. For many years, she enjoyed line dancing at the Millville Sr. Center, bowling in a league w/the girls, playing bridge, and doing word puzzles.
She was a beautiful knitter and was known especially for her aran isle knit sweaters & afghans as well as her baby afghans. She was also an accomplished seamstress & quilter & enjoyed doing needlework and was always willing to try new things such as basket weaving. She was proud of her Irish heritage.
Pauline is survived by her children, Janice M. Colerick, with whom she lived in Woonsocket and J. Brian Colerick and his wife Tina of Gainsville, FL, her granddaughter, Meaghan J. Colerick of Watertown, MA. She is also survived by sister in law, Maria Colerick, brother in law, Everett A. Colerick and his wife Winifred, many nieces and nephews and granddogs; Kasey, Ricky and Rocco. She was the sister of the late Dr. James E. Rockett.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10am from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home 75 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM in St. Charles Church in Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. Visitation will be from 10-11:30am prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline's memory can be made to a charity of ones choice.
