Isiah Lindsey Jr.

WOONSOCKET- Isiah Lindsey Jr., 99, formerly of Main St Honora Lippitt, died December 16, 2012 in the Oakland Grove Health Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Bessie (Farrow) Lindsey.
Born in Newbury South Carolina, son of the late Isiah and Mary (Spearman) Lindsey.
He worked as a presser for Finkelstein, in Woonsocket for 40 years prior to retiring.
He was a member of St. James Baptist Church. Mr. Lindsey was one of the original founders of the Church and was the first ordained Deacon at St. James Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Walter and wife Annie Lindsey, of Columbia, Tennessee, Roger and wife Barbara Lindsey of Cumberland, R.I., David Lindsey, of Woonsocket. Three daughters, Dorothy Lindsey of Scottsdale, Arizona, Bernice Harmon, of Tucson, Arizona, Sandra and husband Donald Butler, of Tucson, Arizona. Eighteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his children Viola Wells, Shirley Shelton, Diane Lindsey, OJ Lindsey, and Oscar Lindsey and his brother Zeddie Lindsey.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 22, 2012, at 11 A.M. in St. James Baptist Church, So. Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Thursday Dec.20, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket.
