City woman charged with making threatening gesture to teacher

December 18, 2012

WOONSOCKET — A 26-year-old city woman has been charged with disorderly conduct after police say she made threatening actions toward a teacher at Pothier Elementary School Tuesday.
According to police, the teacher was in a conference room, looking out the window shortly after 8 a.m. when she saw a woman later identified as Vanice Armstrong with children on the sidewalk. Armstrong allegedly made direct eye contact with the teacher, posed her hands like guns and gestured shooting the teacher as she laughed.
Police spoke about the incident to Armstrong, who denied the allegations, according to a police report.
Armstrong, who resides on Cumber-land Street, was taken into custody for disorderly conduct after a brief struggle and was transported to Sixth District Court. She was scheduled to appear before a judge at 2 p.m.
