WOONSOCKET- Mary Jane (Mariani) Giberson, 96, of Winter St., Woonsocket and formerly of Atlantic City, NJ died January 7, 2013 in The Friendly Home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William J. Giberson.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Jane (Toomey) Mariani.
Mrs. Giberson resided in Atlantic City, from 1968-1980, her and her husband were the proprietors of the Giberson Guest House there. After her husband's passing she continued to work there, helping families create memories by sharing her love of Atlantic City with her guests. She was previously employed until 1968 at Owens Corning Fiberglass, Ashton. She was a Communicant of St. Charles Church, Woonsocket and a Communicant of the former Holy Spirit Church, Atlantic City. Mary Jane was a circus fan and wrote for the Circus Report Magazine. She enjoyed travelling, especially bus trips, swimming in the ocean, bike riding on the boardwalk and had an adventuresome zest for life.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Regan of Rehoboth, MA, her eight very special nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Lewis F. Mariani and sister-in-law of the late Joseph M. Regan.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7PM. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
