WOONSOCKET- Antonio Montefusco, 82, of Logee St. died peacefully, Thursday January 10, 2013 With his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria L. (Salvatore) Montefusco. Antonio and Maria celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary September 26, 2012.
Born in Luciano, Italy, son of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (Claudio) Montefusco.
He worked as a Class II fireman in the boiler room at Wrentham State School for 24 years prior to retiring.
Mr. Montefusco was an avid gardener; he spent several hours, working in his garden to be able to produce some of the most delicious fruits and vegetables, for his family and friends to enjoy. He also loved the art of making his homemade wine, for special occasion.
He also enjoyed traveling with family.
Most of all he loved spending time with his beloved wife, his two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and extended family members which he loved dearly.
Besides his wife Maria he is survived by his two daughters Rose and her husband Raymond Thurber of Woonsocket, Carmela and her husband Paul Beausoleil, of Woonsocket. One brother Francesco Montefusco of Luciano, Italy, and one sister Gentolina Nasuti, of Luciano, Italy. Four grandchildren, Kristen Thurber and Alicia DeStefani, Kyle and Kailey Beausoleil, all of Woonsocket. Two great-grandchildren, Julia DeStefani and Carlo J. DeStefani V.
His funeral will be held on Monday , January 14, 2013, at 9 A.M. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony's Church, Greene St. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, R.I. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Sunday January 13, 2013 from 4 -8 P.M.
