William A. Steere Sr.

BURRILLVILLE- Steere, William A., Sr.,76, passed away Sunday January 13, 2013. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Smith) Steere.
Born in Glocester, a son of the late John P., III. and Mary E. (Howard) Steere. He was a lifelong Burrillville resident and a heavy equipment operator for the Steere Contracting Co. of Hudson, MA for over 30 years before retiring in 1990.
He was the father of Joan A. Stockwell of Glendale, Nancy Beauvais of Mapleville, Robert D. Smith of Dayville, CT and the late Wayne A. and William A. Steere, Jr. He was the brother of Alan Steere, Lydia Steere, Lois Boire all of Chepachet and the late John and Richard Steere. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
His funeral will be held Thursday January 17, 2013 at 10am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Wednesday 5-8pm.
