HARRISVILLE- Anthony A. "Tony" Cecconi, 91, of Inman Rd. died peacefully Monday January 14, 2013, at home with his family by his side.
He was the husband of the late Camella (Silba) Cecconi, who died on August 15, 2012, Tony and Camella were married for 69 years.
Born in Manville, son of the late Egidio and Angelina (Simonini) Cecconi.
Mr. Cecconi served in the United States Army.
He worked as a Rate Clerk, for Nelson Freight Ways, for 19 years, prior to retiring.
He served as a Trustee for St. Anthony's Church and was also on the finance committee.
He was a member of the North Smithfield, Senior Citizens. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid bowler at Walnut Hill Bowl for 50 years. He enjoyed watching the Patriots football games.
He is survived by one son, Gary and his wife Fran Cecconi, of Woonsocket, R.I. and one daughter Carol and her husband Joseph of Hopedale, Mass. Six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. And several nieces and nephews.
He also was the brother of the late Alfred, Albert, Charles and Hilda Cecconi.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 A.M., from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill rd. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony's Church, Greene St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass. relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 P.M.
