CUMBERLAND- Dennis "Dino" Ravenelle, 65, of Biltmore Ave., died Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Pauline S. (Palmari) Ravenelle whom he married September 6, 1969.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Harvey and Lillian (Tremblay) Ravenelle.
An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Ravenelle worked thirty-four years for Verizon, retiring as a communications technician. He was a member of the Elks, Verizon Pioneers, RI American Legion and Cercle Laurier. Dennis enjoyed the ocean, sailing, golfing, vacationing in Florida and is remembered as a great story teller with a wonderful sense of humor.
Besides his wife Pauline, he is survived by their daughter; Heather Ravenelle of Orlando, FL and his sister; Rosalie and her husband Wallace Gordon, III of Attleboro, MA.
His funeral will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 8:45AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland with Military Honors to follow. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
