NORTH SMITHFIELD- Roger P. Lamothe, 82, of Village Way, died January 22, 2013 in The Holiday in Lincoln. He was the husband of Lucille (Bacon) Lamothe, whom he married, January 27, 1951.
Born in St. Aime, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Donat and Emma (Godin) Lamothe.
Mr. Lamothe worked as a machinist for the former Taft-Peirce Manufacturing Company and later worked in the maintenance dept. for the Woonsocket YMCA. He attended Le Petite College on Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket and later attended Mt. St. Charles Academy. Roger was a Montreal Canadians fan and enjoyed golfing with his son-in-laws and grandson.
Besides his wife Lucille, he is survived by their two daughters; Lorraine Rondeau of Woonsocket and Denise Lapierre of No. Smithfield, his brother; Ernest Lamothe of Bellingham, MA, his two grandchildren; David Rondeau and his wife Jennifer and Kelly Rondeau, along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edgar Lamothe and Doris Heroux.
His funeral will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roger's name may be made to the YMCA of Greater Woonsocket, 18 Federal St, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
