NORTH SMITHFIELD- Gordon S. Lang Jr. 70, resident of North Smithfield died peacefully January 20, 2013 at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1942 in Providence RI, a son of the late Gordon Sr. & Kathleen (White) Lang.
Gordon worked for the Congress Construction Co. in Peabody MA, for many years; retiring in 2008, previously he worked for the Gilbane Construction Co. He lived most of his life in North Smithfield most of his life, previously he lived in Lincoln. He was a Marine Veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Woonsocket.
Gordon is survived by his children, daughter, Julie M. (Lang) Varn and her husband Christopher, of Easley, SC, son, Gordon Lang III Steve and his wife Dari of Fort Meyers FL, Kathy (Lang) Ouverson and her husband Jamie of Sebring FL, Derrick W. Lang and Peter J. Lang with both of North Smithfield with whom he lived. Gordon is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held Sunday at 6:30pm in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. North Smithfield. Burial in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery will be held privately. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4-7pm. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of RI 1210 Pontiac Ave. Cranston RI 02920.
