CUMBERLAND- Schulte, William David, 59, of Cumberland, died peacefully February 3, 2013. He was the husband of Rebecca (Harris) Schulte. They were happily married for 36 years.
Born in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of Joan (Hilker) Bright and the late Robert P. Schulte.
Bill lived in Rhode Island since 1984, and previously in New Jersey, Maryland, Indiana and Cape Town, South Africa. He graduated from Villanova University in 1977. He was the Field Audit Manager at Cumberland Farms and had been with the company since 1981. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joan of Arc Church, Cumberland. Active in the RI Knights of Columbus, he served as Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator, Former District Deputy and Former District Master. He was a Knight in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and was a Director and Trustee of the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves 5 brothers, James Schulte and wife Suzanne, Thomas Schulte and wife Frances, Donald Schulte, Kenneth Schulte and wife Jeanine, and Dennis Schulte and fianc Linda Koestler, one sister, Diana Kemler, 21 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11am from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8pm in the funeral home.
