REHOBOTH- Eugenia Carolina Surowiec, RPH, of Rehoboth MA., passed away February 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Walter & Virginia ( Dyjak) Surowiec.
Eugenia graduated on the Dean's list from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1976 with a BS in Pharmacology.
She also graduated on the Dean's list from Johnson & Wales College in 1982 receiving an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts.
At Johnson & Wales she was accepted into the Silver Key Honor Society.
She was also listed in "Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges" in 1982.
Eugenia was on the Pharmacy staff of Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA., for over 16 years and her latest position was at the Woonsocket Landmark Center in Woonsocket RI since 2005.
She is survived by her son Alex, whom she adopted from Russia in 2001, when he was two years old.
She is also survived by two brothers Walter Surowiec, and Edward Surowiec and his wife Gail Surowiec both of Woonsocket RI, her sister Elaine Benedetti and her husband Ettore of North Smithfield RI, and several nieces and nephews, along with her very best friend Deborah Bryant of South Attleboro, MA.
She also leaves her two dachshunds, Lacy and Patches, who along with her son Alex, were a great comfort to her during this time.
A memorial service will be held at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street Attleboro on Saturday, February16, 2013 at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are omitted.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham MA., 01701.
Burial will be private.
