WOONSOCKET- Claire Elaine Defond 90, of Garden St. died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Edgar Renaud and Paul E. Defond.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Germaine (Coupain) Bruneault.
Mrs. Defond was a molder for the Tupperware Co. for twenty three years before retiring in 1962.
She is survived by a son Robert R. Renaud of Woonsocket, a step-daughter Lorraine Dumas of Woonsocket, a brother Roger H. Bruneault of Woonsocket, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was the step-mother of the late Denis Defond and sister of the late Raymond, Roland and Walter Bruneault and Jeanne Fugere.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Please visit
