John Walter Nalewski

WOONSOCKET- John Walter Nalewski, 83 of Woonsocket, RI passed away on February 13, 2013 at the Trinity Nursing Home.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Worcester MA., the youngest son of Maximillian and Josephine (Bogacki) Nalewski originally of Warsaw, Poland.
He is survived by and was the loving husband of Rosamond (DeRoche) Nalewski. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Oct. 11, 2012
John leaves his two children, John J. Nalewski of Massachusetts and Catherine (Nalewski) Ward and her husband, John of Woonsocket. Two grandsons, the joys of his life, Patrick J. Ward and his wife Amy of Ashburn, VA and Navy Seaman Christopher J. Ward, two great- grandchildren, Elle and Henry Ward. His brothers-in-law, Edward DeRoche of San Diego, CA, Paul DeRoche of North Providence, RI and Robert DeRoche of Milwaukee, WI and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his siblings; Helen P. Pearse, Lucy J. Kerr, Wanda J. Lavin, Charles S. Nalewski, Edward Nalewski, Henry Nalewski, Irene Masiello, and Alfreda R. Owens.
Born and raised in Worcester, MA, he attended the Upsala School for the Deaf. He worked for Frank E Sessions Casket Company in Worcester, MA for 20 years, moving to Woonsocket with his family in 1971. He was a finish carpenter for E. Brodeur & Sons, Hemond, Inc. and Herrick & White. John was a former member of the RI Deaf Senior Citizens & The Alumni Association of the RI School for the Deaf.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM, from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 North Main Street, Woonsocket, RI. He will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 PM.
