WOONSOCKET- Arthur H. Lescarbeau, 77, of Wood Ave. died Monday February 18, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Irene L. (Boucher) Lescarbeau.
Born in Southbridge, MA., son of the late Joseph and Marie (Bourden) Lescarbeau.
Arthur and Irene celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, September 2, 2012.
Mr. Lescarbeau worked as a carpenter for various companies in the area and also worked as a maintenance man, for the former Lakeview Nursing Home and Sheldonville Nursing Home, prior to retiring.
For the past two years his wife Irene was his caregiver, since being diagnosed with Mesothelioma, along with his daughter-in-law Nance, while he was in Hospice Care.
He was an avid walker, and enjoyed antique cars, owning a 1983 El Camino which he won several trophies and plaques at various car shows with. He also enjoyed football and Nas Car Racing.
Besides his wife Irene, he is survived by one daughter Barbara and her husband Peter Edwards, of Blackstone, MA. One son Roger and his wife Nance Lescarbeau, of Woonsocket, R.I.
Three sisters, Arlene Ramsey of Florida, Flora Nichols, of Cranston, and Irene Desempeleare, of Woonsocket, RI. Two brothers, Ernest Lescarbeau, of Woonsocket, R.I. and Raymond Lescarbeau, of West Warwick, RI. Four grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
He also was the brother of the late Emile and Edward Lescarbeau, and Jeanne Hammond.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013, at 4 P.M. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are 2-4 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donation, in his memory to Beacon Hospice Care, 1 Cattamore Blvd. East Providence, R.I. 02914 and Dana-Faber.org/gift would be appreciated. Burial will be private.
