HOPE VALLEY, RI- Glenna A. (Andrews) Crowell, 88 of Dye Hill Road, Hope Valley, RI, died peacefully on February 25, 2013 at the Westerly Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Alfred Clifton Crowell for 63 years sadly he predeceased her on May 14, 2010.
Born in Smithfield, RI on June 6, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Alma L. Andrews.
Glenna was employed for the Washington Trust Company for over 30 years before retiring.
She was active in many civic affairs throughout her long life including, Hopkinton Republican Town Committee, Hopkinton Audit Committee, Clerk of District 2, Hopkinton several times, elected Hopkinton Town Treasurer 1980-1982.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Glenna C. Wilson of Ashaway, Muriel L. Conklin and husband Bob of Hope Valley, Grandchildren, Cynthia G. Wilson-Frias, Michael E. Conklin, Matthew A. Conklin and Kathleen Conklin. Great grandchildren, Jonathan R. Frias, Hayleigh M. Conklin, Christopher J. Frias and Abigail R. Frias. She also leaves her sister, Beverly H. Bouchard and her husband Rene of Norwood, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral service Thursday February 28, 2013 at 12:00 PM in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
