Levesque to receive Rotary’s Vocational Services Award

March 4, 2013

WOONSOCKET — The Rotary Club of Woonsocket’s annual Vocational Services Award will be presented to Cathy Levesque, executive Director of the Stadium Theater Foundation, at a May 9 dinner at Savini’s Restaurant in Woonsocket.
Vocational service is the way Rotary fosters and supports the application of the ideal of service in the pursuit of all vocations. Inherent in the vocational service ideal are: adherence to, and the promotion of, the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including faithfulness and loyalty to employers, employees, and associates, and fair treatment of them and of competitors, the public and all those with whom one has any business or professional relationships.
The Woonsocket Rotary Vocational Service Award recognizes the dignity of employment and volunteer involvement by honoring the exemplary services of an outstanding individual or business in our community.
Cathy Levesque, this year’s recipient, has been involved in the Stadium Theatre Foundation since 2005 — first as an effective marketing director and presently as executive director. Under her leadership, the theater has become a model for community involvement, with its hundreds of volunteers, and a leader in the Blackstone Valley and beyond in bringing top-shelf entertainment that covers the spectrum of the arts: Broadway, local and regional repertory, and even children’s educational programs.
Her energy and love for the Stadium and its future, and the future of Woonsocket, is evident 24 hours a day as she is tireless in her efforts to constantly “raise the bar,” according to the Rotary. It’s something that has resulted in a success story in Woonsocket from its economic development and support of local and regional business.
For tickets to the May 9 dinner at Savini’s Restaurant, see any Rotarian or call Suzanne Joyal at 401-568-3332 or Bob Picard at 401-996-8990.
