BLACKSTONE- Therese M. "Terry" (Rivard) Chevrette, 87, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Hector "Tibi" Chevrette who passed in 1982.
Born on April 13, 1925 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Albina (Plante) Rivard.
She was the loving mother of three sons, twins Andre Chevrette and his wife, Ann Marie of Blackstone, MA, Roger Chevrette and his wife, Beatrice of Clearwater, FL, and Normand Chevrette and his late wife, Michelle of North Smithield, RI. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Kerry, Jessica, Sara, Daniel, Angelique and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Connor, Brady and Nathan. She was the sister of Marcel Rivard and his wife, Alice of Cumberland, RI, Jean Paul Rivard and his wife, Terry of Pawtucket, RI, Rejeanne Denault and her husband, Victor of Cumberland, RI, Denise Benoit of Woonsocket, RI, Claire Lemay of Lincoln, RI, and the late Roger, Leo, and Gaston Rivard.
She was raised in St. Joseph de Sorel, P.Q., Canada until she married and moved back to Woonsocket and then moved to Blackstone where she resided for 60 years. Mrs. Chevrette was employed as a spinner in different mills and worked as a bookkeeper for Denault Auto Repair in Bellingham for 15 years until retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Blackstone for 10 years. She was an avid card player, bowler, bingo player, was a good cook and enjoyed traveling to Canada visiting with family and friends. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, March 8th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
