WOONSOCKET- Lorraine G. (Lamarre) Bernard, 66, of Woonsocket, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of Bernard J. Bernard, III, whom she married May 6, 1967.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Lillian (Chasse) Lamarre.
Lorraine was a dedicated nurse for over 45 years, retiring from Landmark Medical Center in 2011. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Lorraine enjoyed golfing in Hilton Head and spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she leaves her son, Bernard J. Bernard, IV and his wife Melissa of Lincoln; her daughter, Keri L. Bernard of Cumberland; three brothers, Gerald Lamarre of Newfield, NY, Donald Lamarre of Charlestown and Paul Lamarre of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Lois Peloquin of Woonsocket and Patricia Laplaca of Ecuador; and two grandchildren, Michael and Cameron Bernard. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Ann Bernard.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
