LINCOLN- Roland E. Paris, 86, of Sayles Hill Road, Manville died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Oscar and the late Marie Ange (Trottier) Paris, he had lived in North Smithfield, Cumberland and Lincoln before moving to Manville 3 years ago.
Roland was a 1944 graduate of Woonsocket High School and a 1948 graduate of Bryant College.
He was employed by Electric Maintenance and Electric Works from 1948 until he became the owner of the business in 1972. He retired in 1992.
Roland was active as a coach in the Woonsocket Little League during the 1950's and early 1960's.
He had a lifelong dedication to the Woonsocket YMCA and was active as a board member from the 1950's through the early 2000's
Roland was a world traveler and spent his vacations extensively traveling the globe.
Roland is survived by two sisters, Therese Frappier of Woonsocket and Claire Baillergeon of Cumberland; one brother, Robert G. Paris of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leo Paris.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln THURSDAY, MARCH 21 from 9:30 -10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial will be private.
