Lincoln home destroyed, memories remain

March 21, 2013

Sheila Loureiro, whose mother, Jeanette Barry, 91, died in a fire here on January 22, 2013, looks through a photo album she salvaged from the debris as her childhood home is demolished on 107 Boulevard Ave. in Lincoln Thursday.
Her father, Henry Barry, 90, who survived the fire, and several other relatives, were on hand, back right, to watch the demolition by Gladu Wrecking and Recycling of Woonsocket, and to retrieve whatever family momentos that could be saved. Loureiro stated that the Town of Lincoln had recommended the house be leveled as it was deemed a safety hazard due to the fact that an ice cream shop is next door. The family hopes to bebuild on the property at a later date.
