BLACKSTONE- Victor J. Karasek, 97, died Saturday March 23, 2013 at St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Mary (Svitil) Karasek.
Born in Montreal, Canada he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Anna J. (Benak) Karasek.
Mr. Karasek work for many years for the former Draper Company of Hopedale before retiring in 1977 at the age of 62. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corp and was a member of the Air Corp Caterpillars. He was a life member of the Mason's, Montgomery Lodge A.F. & A.M. Milford, former member of the Blackstone River Lodge, Blackstone Senior Citizens, St. Theresa's Senior Citizens group and member of the East Blackstone Grange.
He is survived by two daughters; Joyce L. St. Jean and her husband Robert and Gail D. Almquist and her husband Mark, all of Blackstone, MA, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Walter Karasek.
His funeral will be held Wednesday March 27, 2013 at 10AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. Woonsocket, with a service in the St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave. No. Smithfield at 11AM. Burial will follow in Blackstone Cemetery, Mendon St., Blackstone. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7PM. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name.
