WOONSOCKET- Jules R.C. Gadoury, 80, of Woonsocket, formerly of Blackstone, MA, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Riley) Gadoury, whom he married, September 26, 1953.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Sarto A.R. and Ernestine (Roy) Gadoury.
Jules was a teacher at North Smithfield Jr./Sr. High School for 32 years, retiring as the Foreign Language Department Head in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jules was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was involved with Blackstone politics, serving as a Selectman and on the building committee for the Blackstone Library.
Besides his wife Dorothy, he leaves three children, Sally Hardy of Holland, MA, Vincent Gadoury of Blackstone, MA and Amy Gadoury of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Jeannine Hyland of Bellingham, MA and Alice Tatarcuk of Ponte Vedra, FL; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, his twin, Julien S.D. Gadoury and Marcel Gadoury and his sister, Alba Jarret.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Anthony's Church, 128 Greene St. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
