WOONSOCKET- Rose A. (Tardif) Caron, 93, of Elm St., died peacefully April 1, 2013 in Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph O. Caron.
Born in St. Aime, Canada , she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eugenie (Parenteau) Tardif.
She was an LPN at Holy Ghost Hospital in Cambridge for many years before retiring to raise her children. Rose was a charter member of the Mt. St. Charles Women's Guild and St. Joseph's Veterans Association.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis G. Caron of Woonsocket, and Victor Caron and his wife Catherine of Westerly; three daughters, Lorraine Caron of Woonsocket, Doris Pickering of Blackstone, and Carol Turcotte of Cumberland; her sister, Simone Desrosiers of No. Smithfield; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Richard Caron; her six brothers Eugene, Gerald, Harris, Lionel, Paul, and Phillippe Tardif; and her two sisters Jeanne Belba, and Cecile Joly.
Her funeral will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Community Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or Visiting Nurse Home Care, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 515, Lincoln, RI 02865.
