NORTH SMITHFIELD- Raymond R. Houle, Sr., 80, of Lincoln, RI and Naples, FL, died April 4, 2013 at Greenville Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Smithfield. He was the husband of Jeannette (Gervais) Houle and the late Ruth M. (Turcotte) Houle.
Born in Nasonville, he was the son of the late Oliver and Adeline (Godard) Houle.
He was the President of Precision Products in North Smithfield for forty years before retiring in 2005. Ray served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, was on the Woonsocket City Planning Board, and was a former City Council candidate. He was a Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, previously had served on the Holy Family Church Parish Council and on the Pelican Lake Board of Directors in Naples.
Besides his wife Jeannette, he is survived by his five children; Raymond Houle, Jr. and his wife Debra of South Kingstown, Ronald Houle, and Robert Houle both of No. Smithfield, Richard Houle of Grand Prairie, TX and Renay Houle of Warwick; eight grandchildren, Julie, Brian, Lauren, Michelle, Tara, and Robbie Houle, Nicole Paliotti and Alexandra Jordan; two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Sydney Paliotti; and three step children, Michael, Michelle, and Derek Jordan.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Health Services, Inc. 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Suite 1400 Atlanta, GA 30339.
