John L. Roy

BLACKSTONE- John L. Roy, 69, died Thursday April 4, 2013 in Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of Frances Y. (Bernier) Roy. John and Fran would have celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary May 3 2013.
Born in Woonsocket, son of Annie (Glowacki) Roy, of Lincoln, and the late Leonard Roy.
He worked as an Assembler, tester, for Crosby Valve & Gage, for 22 years prior to retiring.
He was a member of St. Joseph Senior Citizens and St. Agatha's Senior, the Golden Hearts.
He enjoyed his bus trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods, with family and friends.
He was avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins games.
John's favorite saying that all of his friends and family will remember him by was "Don't Pretend."
Besides his loving wife Frances and his beloved mother Annie, he is survived by his two children he loved very much, Tina and her husband Gary Stothard, of Woonsocket, and Alan Roy, of Blackstone, MA. Two brothers, Roger and Eugene Roy, both of Woonsocket, Four sisters, Marie Cobb, of California, Suzanne Williams of Pennsylvania, Lucille Gonzales of New Bedford, MA. And Jeannine Carroll, of Woonsocket. One grandson, Kevin Lavallee, of Woonsocket.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 12:30 P.M. in St. Theresa's Church, Rathburn St. Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Beacon Hospice, East Providence Care center, 1 Cattamore Blvd., East Providence, R.I. 02913, would be appreciated. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI is in charge of the arrangements.
