BURRILLVILLE- Roland N. Deschamps, 84, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Friendly Nursing Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Estelle (Dandeneau) Deschamps, whom he married Sept. 1, 1951. They lived on Tarkiln Rd, in the Nasonville section of town for many years.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Charles and Dora (Lamoureux) Deschamps.
Roland was a rigger and part owner of the former RFD Machinery. He enjoyed playing softball in the men's over 60 league of Woonsocket; he enjoyed his Model-A Fords and his hobby of repairing and selling of Wood Pallets.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Denis Deschamps of Pascoag, Russell Deschamps of Glendale and Kevin Deschamps of Harrisville, four daughters, Francine Halpin of Columbia Falls, MT, Debra McCrum of Springfield, VA, Donna Deschamps and Kimberly Deschamps both of Pascoag, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Doris Pierdominici and Viola Scodato.
His funeral, beginning with visitation, will be held Thursday, Apr. 11, 2013 from 8:30 to 10AM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
