CUMBERLAND- Stephen M. Petrosky Jr. , 93, formerly of Diamond Hill Road, passed away Thursday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. He was married to the love of his life, the late Stella Zoubra on October 31, 1964 with whom he traveled the world and this country, which they enjoyed tremendously until her passing in 1995.
Born June 4, 1919 in Woonsocket, he was the fourth child and first son of Stephan and Efrosina Petrosky.
Stephen was a 1937 Franklin High School graduate where he received a medal for his essay on American History.
Mr. Petrosky was employed for many years in Insurance and Real Estate. He was also employed as an associate of Raytheon Manufacturing Company for 20 years until his retirement in 1981.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Mr. Pretrosky was a former moderator and school committee member for the Town of Bellingham, MA.
He leaves his sisters, Olga Lemoine of Woonsocket, Anita Petrosky of Albuquerque New Mexico, and brother Nicholas Petrosky of Westerly RI, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Petrosky, Marjorie Lambert, Minnie Minot, Sophie Gosselin and Elizabet Prebor and by her brothers Paul and Joseph Petrosky.
A celebration of his life will be held with a prayer service on Thursday, April 11, at 11 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Autumn Villa Activities Fund, 3579 Diamond Hill Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864.
