John W. Hewitt

NORTH SMITHFIELD- John W. Hewitt, 86, of Homestead Ave., died April 22, 2013 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. He was the husband of Ethel C. (Roberts) Hewitt whom he married April 26, 1952.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William J. and Marie (Burns) Hewitt.
Mr. Hewitt worked twenty-eight years as an accountant and in the sales department for Brodeur Windows Distribution, Lincoln, retiring in 1992. A WWII Navy Veteran, he was a communicant and trustee of Sacred Heart Church. John was an avid Red Sox fan and loved his wife and children.
Besides his wife, Ethel, he is survived by five children, Kevin Hewitt of Oxnard, CA, Ann Hewitt of Cambridge, MA, Deborah Hewitt-Skowera of W. Springfield, MA, Ellen Hewitt of No. Smithfield and Carol Wilson of No. Smithfield and one grandson, Christopher Nelson.
His funeral will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 415 Olo St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
