FT. MYERS, FL- Roland H. St Germain, 80, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Bellingham, MA, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Jeannette D. (Tessier) St Germain.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Henry and Gertrude (St. Amant) St Germain.
He was the loving father of Dennis St Germain of Middletown, RI, Roger St Germain and his wife, Karen of Lincoln, RI, Richard St Germain and his wife, Gail of Upton, MA, Jim St Germain and his wife, Nancy of Cumberland, RI; and leaves his cherished six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was the brother of Vivian Gauthier of Cumberland, RI and Theresa Tessier of Woonsocket, RI.
Roland worked as a painter for the WF Shea Company of Warwick, RI retiring in 1995 and previously at the EF O'Donnell Company of Providence, RI for over 20 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War attaining the rank of Sergeant, and was a life member of the VFW Post 7272 of Bellingham, MA.
He was an avid fisherman, camper and hunter. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Monday, April 29th at 9AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. Visiting hours are on Sunday, April 28th from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
