WOONSOCKET- Walter E. St. Sauveur, 77, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Woonsocket Health Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Claudette Y. (Gravel) St. Sauveur.
Born in Woonsocket on January 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Walter W. and Valentine E. (Vivequin) St. Sauveur.
He was the loving father of Marc W. St. Sauveur and his wife, Michelle of Woonsocket, Constance C. St. Sauveur of Woonsocket, Debra A. Desilets and her husband, Richard of North Smithfield, Donna M. VanReysen and her husband, Curt of Glocester, and Denise M. Volpe and her husband, John of Warwick. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Melissa Labrecque and her husband Matthew, Marissa St. Sauveur, Nicole Bergeron and her husband Derrick, Marc St. Sauveur, Jr., Matthew Desilets and his wife Andrea, Timothy Desilets and Stephanie Desilets, Brittany Rosemond and her husband Joseph, Meghan Cusson , Courtney Cusson, Bryan Giguere, and Emma VanReysen, and great-grandchildren, Natalia Cusson, Jayvion Rosemond, Haylee Lesperance, Hunter Desilets and Finnigan Walter Bergeron. Predeceased by his granddaughter Emily M. St. Sauveur.
A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, he worked as a body man and welder for Garelick Farms of Franklin for 16 years until retiring due to illness and previously worked at Stadium Motors of Pawtucket as a body man and Tower Iron of Seekonk as a welder.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed the ocean, animals especially his cat Snoopy, and listening to old time radio. His greatest joy was spending time with family and neighbors and will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, May 1st from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
