NORTH SMITHFIELD- Rita H. (Girard) Chamberlain, 90, formerly of Woonsocket, died Tuesday in The St. Antoine Residence.
She was born in Pascoag, a daughter of the late Napoleon and Augustina (Lamoureux) Girard.
She worked for many years in the packing department of A.T. Cross, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Chamberlain was a member of the St. Joseph's Senior Citizens, the Crepeau Court Club, and was a former member of the St. Ann's Choir.
She is survived by two sons; Lionel Chamberlain of Middleboro, MA, and Roland Chamberlain and his wife Athena of AZ, two daughters; Denise Vose and her husband Robert of Blackstone, and Helene Wood and her husband Robert of South Easton MA, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her niece Suzanne DiGiovanni and her husband Jerome of Cumberland. She was also the mother of the late Diane Peterson, and was the sister of the late Roland and Gerald Girard.
Her Funeral will be held Friday at 9:30AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 5-7 PM.
