FOSTER- Olga H. (Kuzew) Chaharyn, 83, of Danielson Pike, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in Overlook Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of John Chaharyn.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Michael and Natalie (Dobrowolski) Kuzew.
Olga worked for Uniroyal for 24 years, and as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Landmark Medical Center and the former Fogarty Hospital for 18 years, prior to retiring.
She volunteered in the Ukrainian Orthodox Kitchen for several years.
She loved cross-stitching, gardening, and making homemade pickles. She also loved working in her flower beds and also enjoyed making quilts; baby quilts were her specialty.
Besides her loving husband John, she is survived by her two children, Alan Chaharyn, of Woonsocket, and Pamela and her husband Robert Fontaine of Foster. One brother Joseph Kuzew, of Woonsocket and one sister, Mary Marley, of New York. Two grandchildren, three step grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late Diane Mishanetz.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 A.M. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, with a Service at 10 A.M. in St Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery, Blackstone, Ma. A Ponachida Service will be held on Monday at 7 P.M. with Fr. Anthony Perkins, Pastor Officiating. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Monday from 5-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers; donations in Olga's memory to St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox, Preservation Fund, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, R.I. 02895 and also to Gentiva Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, R.I. 02886, would be appreciated.
