UXBRIDGE- Donna M. (Jaszczur) Hudon, 65, of 511 Blackstone St. died Mon. May 6 at home after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Ronald R. Hudon; a son Michael D. and his wife Christina Hudon of Uxbridge; a daughter Tammi Hudon and her fianc Kevin of Holly Springs, N. Carolina; her mother Klementyna Jaszczur of Uxbridge with whom Donna lived; 2 granddaughters Abigayle and Maya; and several nephews and nieces.
Born in Krakow, Poland on Jan. 10, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Jan Jaszczur and emigrated to the United States when she was 15 years old. She lived most of her life in Uxbridge.
Mrs. Hudon worked at Lynche's Pharmacy in Uxbridge for 27 years. She could often be seen working at the soda fountain and lunch counter. Previously she worked at Tupperware Co. in Woonsocket, Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge, and the Kartaigner Hat Shop in Upton. She was the type of person who wanted the best for everyone. She loved people as well as animals and raised her beloved pet McCaw "Harry" as a chick. She was proud of her Polish heritage, often translating letters for friends in the community.
When her children were young she was always involved in their sports programs. She never missed a game and even organized youth ski trips for them. She sponsored an underprivileged child overseas, and watched her grow through the years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Donna will be fondly remembered as a Faith-filled, proud, family woman who always placed herself last.
Her funeral will be held Thurs. May 9 at 12:30 p.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thurs. May 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham MA 01701.
