NO. SMITHFIELD- Wanda K. (Iskierski) Moorehouse 89, of No. Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, May 9th at the Miriam Hospital surrounded by her cherished family. She was the loving wife of Eugene Moorehouse.
She was born January 4, 1924 in No. Smithfield the daughter of Polish immigrants, the late Stanislaw and Feliksa (Baron) Iskierski.
She was a lifelong resident of North Smithfield. Wanda was employed as a maintenance person for the former Eastland Bank in Woonsocket retiring in 1991. Wanda and Eugene were married in 1947 in St. Paul's Church and would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on May 17th. She was a member of the No. Smithfield Senior Citizens and the A.A.R.P. She loved attending her floral gardens and enjoyed feeding the birds. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Known for her sense of humor and way with words, she will be missed dearly by everyone.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son Gary E. Moorehouse of No. Smithfield, two daughters, Bonnie-Jean and her husband Bruce Wood of Woonsocket, Felicia J. and her husband Mike Nelson of No. Attleboro, MA. a sister, Mildred Fader of Natick, MA, three grandchildren, Darrell, Savanna & Kyle and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Edward and Stella Iskierski, Anna Guertin and Stasia Kuhr.
Her Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St. Slatersville, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. (May 14th). Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the No. Smithfield Food Pantry, P.O. Box 266, Slatersville, RI, 02876.
