Lucien J. Malo
MANVILLE- Lucien J. Malo, 96, of Manville, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 in the Holiday Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Yvonne (Sarreault) Malo.
Born in Manville, he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Aurore (Poisson) Malo. He lived in Manville most of his life.
Mr. Malo worked for the Town of Lincoln Housing Authority for 15 years and had previously worked for Marcoux Brothers and Normandin Chevrolet for many years. He was a communicant of St. James Church. Mr. Malo was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the 43rd division118th engineers. He was a member of the DAV Poisson Cournoyer Post #12 and the American Legion Post #9 in Manville.
He leaves his son, Normand L. Malo of No. Smithfield; his daughter, Blanche Rainville of Brooklyn, CT; four grandchildren, Patrick Rainville, Michael Malo, Kelly Kobani and Bryan Malo; four great grandchildren, Kaiden and Koen Kobani and Morgan and Gavin Malo. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ernest, Clem and Rene Malo and two sisters, Olymph Butler and Blanche Malo.
His funeral, beginning with visitation at 8:30 AM will be held Thursday May 23, 2013, from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
