WOONSOCKET- Rita J. Remy, 89, formerly of St. Paul St., died Sunday May 5, 2013 at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket where she resided for the past several years.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Stanislaus and Azama (Charron) Remy. She was a lifelong city resident.
Rita attended St. Claire High School and graduated from Finan's School of Beauty Culture in Pawtucket.
She worked at Yvette's Beauty Parlor in Cumberland for 18 years and also at Jeanne D'Art Maison de Beaute on Manville Rd. in Woonsocket for over 25 years.
Rita was a communicant of St. Theresa's Parish in Blackstone and was an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan.
She was the sister of the late Henri, Leo and Aldo Remy, Marie-Rose Jarret, Antoinette Frappier, Irene Bourgault and Cecile Neveu. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Theresa's Church, Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105.
