BURRILLVILLE- Muriel V. (Laperle) Hathaway, 86, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of Arnold Hathaway of Alan Ave. Pascoag.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Olympe (Forcier) Laperle.
Muriel was the owner and operator of the former Dairy Whiz in Uxbridge, MA. She also owned and operated the former Echo Mold which was located in Echo Plaza, Pascoag. She worked for a time at TMI in North Smithfield. She was a member of the Woonsocket Business and Professional Women's Assoc. and was Business Woman of the Year. She was the coordinator for the Applefest and Springfest Committees and also a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Andre, Leo, Albert, Joseph and Fern Laperle and four sisters, Learance Girard, Annette Hale, Blanche Proulx and Rita Lopresti.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St. Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
