George L. Pichette

WOONSOCKET- George L. Pichette, 73, died June 4, 2013 after a long illness, in Mt. St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland. He was the husband of Carole A. (Haughey) Pichette, with whom he celebrated his 50th anniversary on May 18.
A lifelong city resident, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Cecile Y. (Ethier) Pichette.
Mr. Pichette operated an upholstery and draperies company, the former George L. Pichette & Son, Inc, for 35 years before his retirement in 2008. George was a communicant of St. James Church in Manville, and previously a long time member of St. Joseph's Church in Woonsocket.
Besides his wife Carole, he leaves their three children; Denise Potvin and her husband William, Kenneth Pichette and his wife Jane, all of Lincoln and Diane Plouffe and her husband Kevin of Mapleville; his sister, Georgette Casavant of South Carolina; and his seven grandchildren, Andrew and Julie Pichette; Nicolas, Nathan and Emily Doucette; and Danielle and Marie Plouffe. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur E. Pichette.
His funeral will be held Saturday June 8, 2013 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5 - 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
