BELLINGHAM, MA- Julienne (Lozeau) Houle, 89, died peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Attleboro Nursing Home, Langhorne, PA, where she was a resident for almost three years.
A New Englander, Julienne "Julie" lived in Bellingham, MA for over 25 years, and prior to that in Albion, Woonsocket and Lincoln, RI, where she was born on January 21, 1924. She was the daughter of Marie and Anatole Lozeau.
She was the widow of Armand A. Houle who died in 1989. She was the mother of Diane Dufresne of Yardley, PA, Daniel Houle of Coventry, RI, Colette Walukevich of North Attleboro, MA, Raymond Houle of Spring Hill, FL, and Frances Melucci of Slatersville, RI. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, including a name sake, Julianna Elonis of Langhorne.
Julie was a homemaker most of her life. She prided herself on maintaining her home and caring for her five children.
Julie was devoted to her Woonsocket girl friends who loved to socialize and play cards. She belonged to many senior citizens groups. She reveled often to Florida with her companion of many years, the late Daniel Ruggerio.
Julie loved to be well dressed and her talent was shopping for clothes. A few days before she died, she went on a mall bus trip with the Attleboro residents. Every week she had her hair and nails done. She maintained a cheerful personality even through her senior years.
Funeral will be held on Friday, June 14th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Joseph's Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Visiting time from 9 to 10AM at the funeral home prior to Mass.
