CUMBERLAND- Dorothy (Masnyk) Sweatt, 57, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the loving wife of Walt Sweatt.
Born. Nov. 25, 1955 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Rose (Jaryniak) Masnyk of Woonsocket and the late Paul Masnyk.
Dorothy was a Sr. Assistant Accounts Payable clerk for the CVS Corp. in Woonsocket. She was a avid Boston Bruins fan, she loved watching her 2 sons play hockey from youth hockey to professional hockey in which she also loved collecting her sons sports memorabilia and other sports memorabilia from Wayne Gretzky and the Boston Bruins. Her favorite pastimes included collecting beanie babies, planting in her garden, especially flowers, and watching television with her husband, her favorite shows were The Mentalist & Law & Order. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and earned her B.S. & M.B.A. Degree from Elmhurst College.
Besides her husband & mother she is survived by 2 sons Lee Sweatt and Bill and his wife Samantha Sweatt, both of Denver, CO. 2 brothers Ores Masnyk of Richmond, TX. Steven Masnyk of Cranston, RI, 2 sisters, Antonina Clark of Las Vegas, NV., Alice Gaudreau of Woonsocket, also 2 aunts, Katherine Buchynski of Southport, N.C. and Anna Jaryniak of Germany. She was the sister of the late Mary Masnyk.
Relatives & Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass of Devine Liturgy at 11:00. A.M. on Friday, June 14th at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Donations in Dorothy's memory can be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket, RI, 02895
